The Kaukaz.net is a site for those to whom the Caucasus means much more than just beautiful mountains

The www.kaukaz.net website has emerged out of passion. Our site is meant to attract people fascinated by the Caucasus, eager to work together and explore this almost unknown part of the world. Our aim is to popularize the knowledge of the South and North Caucasus, knowledge free of any prejudice and stereotypes. We would like to present not only the culture and other unique features of various ethnic groups, but also show the present situation in the region, everyday life and problems of its inhabitants.

This site was inspired by the ethnographic research that we conducted in Dagestan and Georgia, conversations we had with local people, thanks to whom the Caucasus will remain in our hearts forever. Our increasingly frequent trips to the Caucasus engendered the need to repay our friends and all the people that we had met for their hospitality, openness, interest and support they provided. This gave rise to the idea of creating a website popularizing this undiscoverd part of the world.
