Trips: Borjomi region

„Horse Tours Georgia” Association – Tours available in the summer 2014

Trips should be booked at least 1 or 2 days in advance, so that it is possible to prepare horses and equipment according to highest quality standards.

1.Trail name and number:
Likani - Marelisi (Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park’s Trail no.1 – Nikoloz Romanoff Trail) or Kvabiskhevi-Marelisi

2.Route description:
Day One:
The trail leads from Likani or Kvabiskhevi village towards Lomismta mountain (2198 m above sea level). Accommodation: Borjomi-Kharagauli Park’s tourist hut „Lomismta”.
Day Two:
Visit to an orthodox St. George’s Church and enjoying spectacular nature. The trail leads on the mountain range about 2000m. high, towards the village of Marelisi. Along the way a spectacular panorama of the main Caucasus range is visible and a few ideal picnic spots are accessible.
Accommodation: Borjomi-Kharagauli Park’s „Sachwlari” tourist hut.
Day Three:
The trail continues towards Marelisi and leads to a 20-meter high waterfall. The path follows the river. The trip ends in Marelisi, from where participants should come back on their own by train or by taxi.

3. Total time:
3 days / 5-6 hours a day.
Trips on any chosen route within the Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park, lasting longer than 3 days are available on demand.

4.Accommodation:
Accommodation in Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park:
- accommodation in tourist huts in the National Park – 10 GEL/person per night
- tents – 5 GEL/person per night (tents for rent are available in the Park administration)
Accommodation fees should be paid in the Borjomi-Kharagauli Park administration.
It is possible to provide accommodation before or after the trip in guest houses (from 15 GEL/person) or in hotels (from 50 GEL per room).

5.Meals:
Not provided. Participants should bring their own food.

6.Cost:
1-4 people – 60 GEL/person per day
5 or more people – 10% discount

7.Additional information:
The tourists should have warm clothes, raincoats, water and sleeping bags with them. They should be also individually insured.
It is possible to rent sleeping bags in the Park administration.
